Job summary

Vizient seeks a seasoned leader to drive category management for Patient Transportation services, including air and ground ambulance. You will lead sourcing initiatives, develop cost-saving strategies, and build strong client and supplier relationships across cross-functional teams.

You will analyze spend and market trends, negotiate complex contracts, and implement initiatives that improve total cost of care for a California-based client and beyond.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience sourcing, contracting, or managing healthcare transportation services (air/ground) preferred.
• Strong understanding of transportation network economics and reimbursement models preferred.
• Experience leading large-scale contract negotiations and supplier management initiatives.
• Excellent client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category management strategies for Patient Transportation services.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFP development, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and implementation.
• Analyze spend, utilization patterns, market trends, and supplier performance to identify cost savings.
• Establish collaborative relationships with clients, providers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Develop sustainable fee schedules and transportation cost management strategies.
• Negotiate complex transportation contracts and commercial terms.
• Partner with Legal, Finance, Procurement Operations and others to support sourcing activities.
• Leverage analytics and digital tools to enhance transportation category performance.
• Drive change management and continuous process improvements.
• Support sustainability objectives and internal controls.
