Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a senior architect/lead for Global Engineering who will shape architectural governance, technology roadmaps, and cross-functional partnerships. You will influence senior leaders and drive architecture strategy across the portfolio, balancing business value with risk and time to value.

The role requires deep architecture and transformation experience, 12+ years of development history, and strong Big Data/ Open Source skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 12+ years development experience.
• Experience in Architecture and Transformation programs.
• Agile SCRUM management experience; Agile transformation experience a plus.
• Strong Big data / Open Source experience in building modern warehouse.
• Experience in Reconciliation is a must with the TLM software knowledge.
• Strong Database knowledge in Oracle and Snowflake(preferable).
• In-depth knowledge in the middleware layers like Kafka/MQ/Spark.
• Understanding of AI / Machine learning is an added advantage.
• Strong development background using Cloud/Docker technologies.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Governance: contribute to Global Engineering governance and ensure business value.
• Roadmaps: deliver multi-year technology strategy and align with business strategies.
• Partnership: build relationships with key stakeholders and liaise with Enterprise Architecture groups.
• Drive prioritization and mitigate technical debt while balancing time to value.
