Job summary

Station Casinos is seeking aSoftware Architect to set the technical direction for our software products and lead solution design from discovery through delivery and production operation.

You will translate business needs into secure, scalable applications and integrations that support operations and guest experiences, while mentoring teams and shaping enterprise architecture alongside data and platform teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science or related field.
• Significant experience designing and delivering production software and leading architecture decisions.
• Strong foundation in modern web/backend engineering, API design, data modeling, distributed systems, and software design patterns.
• Ability to design for security, performance, scalability, resilience, accessibility and observability.
• Experience with cloud platforms, automated delivery, containers and operational support; able to decide with deployment in mind.
• Proven ability to turn ambiguous business problems into clear technical options and delivery plans.
• Excellent ability to communicate complex concepts to executives, stakeholders, vendors, and engineers at varying levels.
• Experience mentoring engineers, leading design reviews and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Balance delivery speed with technical debt and long-term product health.
• Willingness to engage with business operations and participate in production escalation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction for software products from discovery through delivery and production operation.
• Own solution designs including boundaries, components, APIs, data flows, deployments, security, and support.
• Translate requirements into architectural briefs and acceptance criteria for nonfunctional requirements.
• Guide engineers through design changes and maintain architecture fidelity as evidence evolves.
• Participate in discovery, backlog refinement, planning and reviews when decisions are needed.
• Present architecture to executives, business partners, and engineering teams.
• Coordinate design and delivery across product, data, platform, security, and operations teams.
• Build targeted prototypes to test feasibility, performance, and integration approaches.
• Mentor teams through reviews and documentation; learn and share best practices.
