Job summary

Vireo Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage PO activities, vendor negotiations, and inventory planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will develop supplier scorecards, drive cost-saving initiatives, and collaborate with Production, QA, and Finance to ensure material readiness and on-time delivery. The role emphasizes ERP/MRP proficiency, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to optimize supplier performance while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive purchasing or sourcing experience in manufacturing.
• Experience purchasing raw materials, packaging, or production-critical items.
• Strong supplier negotiation, PO management, and KPI development.
• Experience with supplier scorecards and cost-saving initiatives.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP).
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, supplier negotiations, and inventory planning.
• Develop supplier scorecards and KPIs; improve vendor relationships.
• Support production with ready raw materials and cost improvements.
• Identify obsolete/slow-moving stock and offer cost-saving strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, QA, Finance).
• Generate reports and present data to Supply Chain leadership.
• Research and onboard new suppliers; resolve delivery and pricing issues.
• Travel up to 10% as required.
