Job summary

You will lead strategic planning, editorial management, and training, collaborating with SCEO and DNB leadership to share research breakthroughs with donors and the public. You'll develop content across newsletters, websites, annual reports, and visuals, mentoring researchers in plain-language writing and effective communications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in life sciences or related field required.
• PhD and/or Science Communication degree preferred.
• 5+ years in journalism, public information, or related field.
• Experience with posting to SharePoint or website platforms; social media management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive science communication strategy aligned with goals.
• Serve as lead writer, editor, and communications advisor for DNB leadership.
• Create content across newsletters, websites, intranet, social media, and reports.
• Translate complex science into clear content for researchers, donors, and public audiences.
• Collaborate with St. Jude communications teams for media opportunities and awards.
• Design training programs to improve scientists' storytelling and plain-language writing.
