Job summary

CEX.IO Corp seeks a Risk Officer in Bermuda to oversee the risk operations of our Bermuda-regulated entity. The role focuses on the daily management of our enterprise-wide risk framework, bridging strategic risk appetite with day-to-day execution to ensure resilience, security, and full compliance with BMA regulations and the DABA framework.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years in risk management within digital asset platforms or traditional finance, plus strong knowledge of Bermuda's regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Business, or Law; professional risk credentials (e.g., FRM, PRM) are advantageous.
• 3–5+ years in senior or mid-level risk management within digital asset platforms, custody providers, payment services, or traditional financial institutions.
• Strong knowledge of Bermuda's DABA and BMA regulatory requirements; familiarity with aligning international standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• ERM governance: maintain, operationalize, and update the Enterprise Risk Management framework, policies, and risk registers per BMA expectations.
• Digital asset risk and custody: conduct risk assessments of crypto-related threats, custody risks, settlement risks, and blockchain vulnerabilities.
• Client asset safeguarding: enforce controls around asset custody and compliance with BMA segregation and reconciliation rules.
• Daily monitoring: track KRIs and flag risks to management.
• Board and regulatory reporting: report to the Board on risk framework, appetite, and threats; assist with prudential reporting to BMA and auditors.
• Business resilience and cybersecurity: support business continuity, disaster recovery, wind-down planning, and cyber risk programs per the BMA Code of Practice.
• Capital and liquidity oversight: ensure compliance with BMA prudential standards.
