Job summary

Merit Financial Advisors in Alpharetta, GA, seeks a Senior Accountant, Revenue and Compensation. You will own recurring revenue accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables in line with ASC 606, while supporting payroll and bonus accruals.

You will partner across Accounting, Billing, Finance, Treasury, Payroll, Corporate Development, Technology, and auditors to ensure accuracy and drive improvements in controls and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 knowledge.
• Experience with revenue accounting, accounts receivable, cash collections, compensation accounting, payroll accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience in wealth management, RIA, financial services, asset management, broker-dealer, or related industries preferred.
• Experience with acquisition-related accounting, revenue integration, or post-acquisition settlement analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Revenue Recognition and Revenue Accounting: own recurring revenue accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, close deliverables, and revenue activity analysis per ASC 606.
• Post-acquisition revenue integration and settlement analyses; coordinate with multiple teams to record and document activity.
• Cash Collections, Accounts Receivable, and Billing Reconciliation; liaise with Billing to reconcile between systems.
• Advisor Compensation, Payroll, and Bonus Accruals; ensure accurate recording and accruals.
• Internal Control, Month-End Close: prepare workpapers, support audits, and drive process improvements.
