Job summary

The SUNY Research Foundation's Office of Strategic Research Initiatives (OSRI) is seeking a Research Initiatives Associate to help advance Stony Brook University's research competitiveness by building interdisciplinary partnerships and leading strategic intelligence efforts.

You will develop and execute institutional research strategies, identifying funding opportunities and coordinating with internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Natural or Physical Sciences, or related field with 4 years of full-time research or grant/proposal experience OR Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) with 2 years of related experience.
PhD (or foreign equivalent) in the related fields preferred; experience with grant writing or external grants to federal sponsors (NSF, NIH, DOD, DOE) preferred.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will increase institutional research competitiveness through capacity building and interdisciplinary partnerships.
Conduct strategic intelligence activities to support decision-making, including intelligence gathering, analysis, and delivery through reports, presentations, and communications.
Build relationships with diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively to execute strategic research initiatives.
