Job summary

Pittsburgh Public Schools is seeking a Director of Research and Evaluation to lead district-wide research, evaluation, and analytic reporting efforts aligned to instructional leadership and student outcomes. The role reports to the Chief Accountability Officer within the DREA division and focuses on timely analytic products, governance of survey platforms, and cross-department coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Educational Assessment, Research, Evaluation, Statistics, Data Analytics or related field with 10+ years in educational research/evaluation or related field incl. 5+ years supervision.
• Master’s Degree with 6+ years in the field incl. 5+ years supervisory experience.
• Doctorate (Ed.D./Ph.D.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Research and Evaluation function, ensuring on-time delivery of studies and reports.
• Oversee Data Reporting Team, including dashboards, survey governance, and data requests.
• Establish clear work plans and deliverables for projects.
• Supervise staff, provide feedback, coaching and accountability.
