Job summary

Rutgers University’s Rutgers–New Brunswick Office for Research (NB OfR) seeks a Research Project Manager to advance the university’s research mission. The role reports to the Assistant Director for Research Development and serves as a strategic partner within NB OfR.

The position shapes initiatives across 12 schools, manages the Center/Institute Review Process, LSOs, internal funding, and proposal development, while building faculty capacity and producing institutional metrics for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or social sciences and data science knowledge.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in research administration, research development, higher education administration, data analysis, or project management.

Responsibilities

  • Shapes initiatives to increase faculty competitiveness and interdisciplinary engagement across 12 schools.
  • Coordinates Center/Institute Review Process, LSOs, internal funding, and pilot seed programs.
  • Supports proposal development, internal funding programs, and SOPs.
  • Prepares NB OfR annual report and collects research metrics for leadership.
  • Tracks NB OfR operating budget and program expenditures.
  • Fosters collaborations with global partners, coordinating related program activities.
  • Oversees research development programs and communications to support Rutgers–New Brunswick’s enterprise.
  • Contributes to strategic priorities and continuous process improvement.
