Job summary

The City of San Diego's Economic Development Department is seeking a Program Manager to lead the Successor Agency and Dispositions Team, overseeing remaining obligations and real estate assets of the former Redevelopment Agency in compliance with dissolution laws. You will manage complex deals, regulatory reporting, and interagency coordination to support community and economic development goals.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Director of Real Estate, this role supervises one direct report

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, business management or a related field.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience involving major phases of public sector real estate, redevelopment, or property management with asset disposition and enforceable obligations preferred.

Responsibilities

Program leadership for the City’s Successor Agency, including disposition of assets and coordination with partner agencies and boards.
Negotiate complex redevelopment and real estate transactions and provide City approvals/guidance.
Supervise and develop staff; lead one direct report; foster a high-performance culture.
Plan and direct high-complexity projects balancing legal, regulatory, fiscal, and stakeholder considerations.
Prepare legally required reporting and governance documentation; coordinate with Oversight Board and State Department of Finance.
