Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Marketing Pursuit Director to lead strategic pursuit initiatives across markets and service lines. The role partners with firm leaders, seller/doers, project leaders, and technical teams to develop differentiated pursuit strategies and win plans.

The ideal candidate will translate client and market insights into compelling win strategies, coach staff on persuasive communication, and drive proposal quality and interview readiness across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field required.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in professional services marketing, pursuit management, business development, or proposal strategy.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, high-value pursuits from strategy through interview performance.
• Strong understanding of capture planning, pursuit strategy, and client positioning.
• Proven ability to develop differentiated win strategies, messaging, and interview strategies.
• Exceptional facilitation and strategic communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic pursuit planning for priority opportunities across markets and service lines.
• Facilitate pursuit strategy workshops, kickoff meetings, and strategic reviews.
• Develop and direct messaging strategies for major proposals, qualifications, interviews, and client-facing opportunities.
• Guide capture planning and pre-positioning activities with project leaders and technical teams.
• Coach technical staff and marketing teams on persuasive communication, storytelling, and client-focused messaging.
• Mentor and develop marketing professionals to strengthen strategic thinking and pursuit leadership.
