Job summary

Our Community Our Kids is seeking a Purchasing and Travel Support Specialist to manage employee travel bookings, review travel requests, process purchase orders, and code transactions for proper financial classification in accordance with agency policies.

The role requires independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across the agency's 10-county service area, with occasional travel to satellite offices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Operations, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years in purchasing support, travel coordination, or related roles with policy compliance experience.
• Experience communicating changes or recommendations to staff or customers.
• Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder logistics and handling invoices or expense documents.
• Preferred: public sector/nonprofit or regulated environment familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Review travel requests for policy compliance, cost reasonableness, and feasibility.
• Coordinate, book, and document employee and client travel in-state and out-of-state per policy.
• Review and process purchasing requests for supplies and non-routine items for cost efficiency.
• Prepare and process purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and non-client services.
• Track receipt and delivery of goods and services to support invoice approval.
• Code receipts and refunds to proper general ledger accounts for reconciliation.
• Maintain organized purchasing, travel, and inventory records.
• Occasional travel within the service area may be required; mileage reimbursement per policy.
