Job summary

Water Control Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee the purchasing department, directing daily workflow, scheduling, and performance evaluations. You will manage procurement for equipment, materials, and services, build vendor relationships, and implement policies to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the purchasing department.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees following company policy.
• Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
• Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
• Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
• Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Establishes service levels and requirements for the department.
• Develops and implements training and quality assurance programs for new hires and experienced employees.
• Identifies and recommends or acquires updates and expansions to technology, equipment, and policies that may improve the purchasing department.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
