Job summary

Bee Green Recycling & Supply in Oakland seeks a Head of Purchasing & Receiving to manage ordering, sourcing, and inventory levels, ensuring accurate receipt and documentation. This role requires budget awareness and strong supply chain logistics, reporting to the Inventory Manager.

You will collaborate with Yard Supervisors, CSR, Turf & Hardscape Lead, Stocking & Facing Clerks, and Inventory team to forecast needs, create POs, monitor turnover, and supervise the receiving team to maintain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Certification in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
• 4+ years in logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimal stock levels by analyzing sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Coordinate with Yard Supervisors and Inventory Manager to plan inventory needs.
• Generate and manage purchase orders and schedule transportation.
• Monitor inventory turnover and stay within budget constraints.
• Oversee all incoming shipments and verify proper handling.
• Supervise receiving team and ensure accurate records.
• Resolve discrepancies with suppliers (short shipments, damage, etc.).
• Maintain detailed records of purchases, shipments, and adjustments.
• Assist in periodic inventories and cycle counts.
• Follow up on open POs past expiration with vendors.
