Job summary

Red River Commodities is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement of packaging materials and ingredients for manufacturing. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and cost-effective procurement while ensuring quality, compliance, and supply continuity.

The ideal candidate combines strong negotiation skills with global and domestic supplier management experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and relevant work experience
• 2+ years of progressive procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience
• Proven supplier negotiation and contract management experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for packaging materials, ingredients, and related categories
• Evaluate market conditions, supplier capabilities, pricing trends, and risks
• Lead supplier selection, RFQs, bids, and contract negotiations
• Monitor supplier performance with KPIs and drive continuous improvement
• Manage a team of three purchasing professionals and ensure compliance with policies
