Job summary

Safe Air Technology seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead its purchasing activities for manufacturing operations. The role ensures materials, components, and services meet cost, quality, and timing targets to support production and customer commitments.

The candidate will collaborate across Supply Chain, Engineering, Production, Project Management, Quality, and Accounting, identify shortages, and drive supplier performance improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience supervising purchasing staff is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of supplier management, inventory, and material planning.
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems; Sage 100 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day purchasing for materials, components, and services in manufacturing.
• Lead and develop the purchasing team with clear priorities and accountability.
• Align purchasing with production schedules and project needs.
• Issue, track, and optimize purchase orders including pricing and delivery terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively manage shortages and delays.
• Negotiate terms and lead strategic sourcing to reduce costs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Accounting and other teams.
• Maintain ERP data integrity for accurate purchasing records.
• Provide leadership updates on material risks and procurement priorities.
