Job summary

Ben E. Keith, located in New Brockton, Alabama, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee replenishment and purchasing operations across assigned categories.

The role focuses on balancing supply with demand, managing purchase orders, and supporting a team of Purchasing Assistants to drive category profitability. The ideal candidate will have purchasing/manufacturing experience, prior management responsibilities, and strong proficiency in MS Office and purchasing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or related industry.
• Experience in purchasing and/or manufacturing is preferred.
• Management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory/purchasing systems.
• Proficient with MS Office, internet and email; willingness to learn new software.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to write reports and communicate effectively to vendors and employees.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage time.
• Ability to learn and use Ben E. Keith applications.

Responsibilities

• Represent Ben E. Keith professionally and follow dress code.
• Manage replenishment of products within assigned categories to balance supply with demand at the best price.
• Perform purchasing system management, price verification and new item requests.
• Manage the purchase order process from inception to delivery.
• Oversee daily responsibilities of Purchasing Assistants.
• Provide feedback to Director of Purchasing on performance of Purchasing Assistants.
• Demonstrate and model effective management and self-management practices.
• Manage purchasing levels based on pre-determined guidelines.
