Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting a Purchasing Manager for the Business Center North (BCN) Purchasing Department. The role provides daily leadership for a high-volume purchasing team, ensuring KPI/compliance and implementing efficient purchasing processes across BCN institutions.

The incumbent leads cooperative purchasing, coordinates suppliers, ensures training for staff, and oversees non-construction solicitations from draft to award.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of professional related work experience; OR a Master’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience.
• Two (2) years supervisory experience and purchasing management or related.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily operational leadership for a high-volume purchasing team with KPI, policy, and compliance focus.
• Develops and implements efficient purchasing processes and procedures for BCN institutions while supporting faculty, staff, and campus partners.
• Leads cooperative purchasing, including compliance, documentation, reporting, supplier coordination, and staff training.
• Supervises and mentors purchasing staff, assigns work, balances workload, and provides ongoing coaching.
• Oversees non-construction formal solicitations from draft through award and trains staff on standardized solicitation procedures.
• Serves as backup for purchasing work and departmental operations during staff absences.
