Job summary

Elkhart Plastics is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead demand planning, procurement, and supplier relationships to keep manufacturing running smoothly. You will develop strategies, balance cost, quality, and delivery, and supervise plant supply chain personnel.

This role partners with internal stakeholders to support production goals, drive continuous improvement, and ensure materials are available in the right quantities at the right time.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of work experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain.
• BS/BA in Purchasing or Supply Chain; MBA or certifications preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team, deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Perform supply and demand planning to ensure materials are available in the right quantities at the right time.
• Purchase raw materials, parts, and services necessary for operations.
• Meet with suppliers to evaluate product, price, and capabilities.
• Review proposals to improve price and meet quality requirements.
• Maintain purchasing records, orders, certificates of conformance, and reporting.
• Develop near- and long-term purchasing strategies based on market conditions.
• Ensure suppliers have materials at facilities to meet production plans.
• Supervise plant sourcing and supply chain personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
