Job summary

Thompson Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing operations and support projects across Electrical Construction, Service, and Limited Energy teams.

You will partner with leaders to develop and implement purchasing strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and manage a team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain experience.
• Leadership experience managing or leading a team.
• Strong negotiating skills and ability to build productive relationships.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Purchasing Department and support material procurement across multiple business units.
• Develop purchasing strategies that support project success, operational goals, and company growth.
• Build and strengthen supplier partnerships to ensure quality, availability, and competitive pricing.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and supplier programs to maximize value.
• Collaborate with project, service, and operations teams to anticipate and meet purchasing needs.
• Establish and monitor supplier performance standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure materials, equipment, rentals, and subcontracted services are sourced efficiently and cost effectively.
• Lead, coach, and develop purchasing and inventory team members.
