PAPIER-METTLER UK Limited in Moorefield, West Virginia, is seeking a qualified Purchasing Specialist to help establish and shape the U.S. procurement function for our manufacturing plant.

You will source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, manage inventory, and coordinate with production, QA and corporate teams to ensure cost-effective, high-quality materials and timely deliveries. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and understanding of contract law.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving and time management skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Hands-on attitude with good communication skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and shaping the purchasing department for the U.S. plant.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Collaborate with production, QA, and corporate teams to ensure smooth supply chain.
• Analyze and manage inventory to optimize working capital and efficiency.
• Maintain vendor relationships aligned with quality standards.
• Monitor market trends, assess supplier performance, identify cost savings.
• Process purchase orders through ERP and handle related admin tasks.
