Job summary

Central Transport LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Purchaser to manage operational purchasing activities across multiple departments and locations. The role requires strong pricing negotiation, research skills and clear communication.

You will issue purchase orders, monitor inventory, enforce policies, and collaborate with vendors to support a technology-driven transportation environment. Salary ranges from $50,000 to $70,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in purchasing, or supply chain, or related experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a technology driven or Transportation environment.
• Proven research, problem solving and pricing negotiation experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational purchasing activities across multiple departments and locations.
• Review sourcing requests and validate pricing.
• Issue and manage purchase orders.
• Monitor inventory levels and replenishment activities.
• Maintain visibility into operational spend and purchasing activity.
• Enforce purchasing policies and process compliance.
• Assist with cost reduction and spend optimization initiatives.
• Maintain purchase order updates and corrections.
• Monitor and manage inbox communications.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and PO-related issues.
• Coordinate with vendors regarding orders, deliveries, and service issues.
• Provide administrative support to Purchasing team as needed.
