Job summary

King County is seeking a highly experienced Public Safety Policy Lead Advisor to work with Executive Zahilay and the Executive Office. The role will shape broad policy priorities, coordinate with criminal justice partners, and lead critical safety initiatives across the county.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in policy or public safety, excels at stakeholder engagement, and translates policy into measurable results while upholding transparency and equity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of policy or public safety experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Criminal Legal System Policy Lead Advisor to drive policy priorities.
• Lead public safety projects including alternative response and gun violence prevention.
• Align policy with systems of care, discharge, and re-entry.
• Build relationships with community-based organizations and stakeholders.
• Represent the Executive in safety policy meetings and groups.
