Job summary

Berkeley County in South Carolina seeks a Public Safety Systems Administrator to plan, design, implement, and maintain information systems supporting Police, Fire, EMS, and 911 dispatch. You will manage CAD/RMS/QMS and related applications and ensure security and regulatory compliance across Public Safety systems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of personal computers and peripheral devices with a good understanding of Internet application systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft networking systems and Office applications.
• Skill in installation of personal computer software and hardware equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to be organized, detail oriented and multi-tasking.
• Ability to manage inventory and property.
• Ability to make budget recommendations.
• Ability to repair, develop or install hardware, software and systems.
• Ability to establish policies and create plans and guide implementation of new systems.
• Skill in excellent oral and written communications.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain 911 related applications such as CAD/RMS/QMS/JMS, 911 Phone System, RapidDeploy, RapidSOS, E-Agent, and Purvis.
• Coordinate maintenance of 911 radio equipment with the Berkeley County Radio Shop.
• Develop long-term strategic goals for systems and software for Public Safety and IS staff.
• Provide system administration for Public Safety hardware and software including CAD, Mobile Digital Communicators, and Records Management Systems.
• Ensure data integrity and security in line with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Understand the business processes supported by the systems.
• Apply standards and guidelines during installation and configuration of applications.
• Research emerging products and manage vendor negotiations for software products and services.
• Identify faults and recommend resolution paths.
• Contribute to process development and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
