Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City is seeking a Senior Contracting Analyst to help shape the strategic direction and manage day-to-day contracting and network activities for all provider types.

You will negotiate complex contracts, build provider partnerships, and collaborate with Claims Operations, Legal, Analytics, and Compliance to support the local market strategy. The role emphasizes strong financial analytics and a comprehensive understanding of payer methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of managed care or health care reimbursement experience.
• Strong financial analytics and contracting background.
• Experience with payment methodologies and provider network management.
• 2–3 years as a Strategic Reimbursement & Contracting Analyst.
• Experience negotiating contracts.
• Extensive knowledge of claims processing and billing.

Responsibilities

• Manages complex contracting and negotiations for fee-for-service and value-based reimbursements.
• Builds relationships with provider partnerships to support local market strategy.
• Maintains effective communication channels with matrix partners like Claims Operations.
• Coordinate with Credentialing, Legal, Analytics, Compliance, Sales and Marketing.
• Work to meet unit cost targets while preserving an adequate network.
• Prepare and analyze financial impact of large or complex contracts.
• Ensure accurate contract loading and interface with matrix partners.
