Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding seeks a Project Manager to oversee the operational aspects of ongoing projects and to serve as a liaison between project management and planning, the project team, and line management. You will review budgets, manage schedules, and prepare status reports to ensure productivity and client satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of relevant exempt experience or a Master's with 1 year of relevant experience, with various equivalencies allowed, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of exempt experience or Master's degree with 1 year of experience.
• Equivalencies to bachelor's degree accepted (e.g., NNS Apprentice School, NNPS).
• Various combinations of education and experience acceptable to meet minimum qualifications.
• US citizenship required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects.
• Liaises between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
• Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
• Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.

Education

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience

Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience

NNS Apprentice School graduate

Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

Associate's Degree or other 2-year program + 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience

Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience

High School/GED + 4 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military or other relevant exempt experience

High School/GED + 8 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military or other relevant non-exempt experience
