Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive strategic business projects from conception to implementation. The role emphasizes delivering on scope, timelines, and budgets while managing risks and aligning with senior leaders.

In this capacity you will partner with key stakeholders, design robust project plans, and ensure effective communication across all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience required.
• MBA preferred.
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute large and small-scale projects that contribute to broader business initiatives.
• Drive projects based on defined priorities while ensuring scope of deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Identify risks and issues, mitigating and escalating them as needed to manage project impacts.
• Plan, design, manage, and execute project plans through feasibility, design, planning, and implementation.
• Leverage problem-solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation.
• Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the delivery of commitments.
• Identify ways to improve and streamline business processes.
• Quickly put structure in place to manage work and demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands.
• Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills to interact with stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.
• Display strong consulting and collaboration skills to ensure successful project delivery.
