Job summary

Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation seeks a dynamic program officer to advance community health in Greater Cleveland. You will work with nonprofits, health professionals, and civic partners to shape strategic investments.

Ideal candidates have a public health or policy background, strong analytical and communication skills, and a collaborative mindset focused on prevention and equity. Bachelor’s degree required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, health policy or human services.
• Experience with grant-making and program evaluation a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Counsel grant-seekers on grant requests and general information inquiries
• Assess quality and feasibility of grant proposals, budgets and capacity
• Develop written funding recommendations and present to senior staff and Board
• Facilitate site visits with prospective grantees and Board members
• Provide technical assistance to grantee-partners during implementation
• Conduct research and analysis for strategic grant-making
• Convene organizations to develop cross-sector community health initiatives
• Analyze past partnerships to identify new grant opportunities
• Produce reports on internal and external projects
• Contribute to evaluation and learning from grant-making
• Stay current on trends in public health, health policy, philanthropy
