Job summary

Vanderbilt University is seeking a Program Manager for Research Development and Support (RDS) within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Innovation. The role focuses on managing scarce submission opportunities, handling internal awards, and aiding research development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least two years of research-related experience is required.
• At least three years in a professional office setting are required.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communications skills are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, a collaborative spirit, and service orientation are required.
• Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience working with university faculty in higher education is preferred.
• Strong interest in the field of research development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the limited submissions opportunities (LSO) program, including opportunities, internal competitions, reviewer coordination.
• Manage the Internal Awards program, including outreach and reviewer committees.
• Advise on policies and procedures and escalate issues to the Executive Director of Research Development.
• Provide research development assistance, perform funding searches, and coordinate with the RDS team.
• Develop and implement reports displaying RDS metrics.
• Serve as liaison for university offices and advise on processes for systems like VandyQuest and InfoReady.
• Support university-wide, multi-institution proposals and coordinate meetings.
