Job summary

Trident Systems Inc is seeking a Senior Program Finance Manager in Fairfax, VA to lead financial management across aerospace and defense programs. You will partner with Program Management, FP&A, Accounting, Contracts, and Operations to forecast, analyze variance, and support decision-making.

The role emphasizes building scalable finance processes, developing the program finance team, and delivering clear financial outlooks to senior leadership. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 12+ years (OR 10+ years with a graduate degree) of finance experience in aerospace/defense or project-based environments.
• Strong experience with program financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and EAC development.
• Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and the relationship between program performance, EACs, revenue, and margin.
• Experience with government contract types (fixed-price, cost-reimbursable).
• Demonstrated ability to develop finance talent and improve processes.
• Strong analytical, Excel, and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to communicate financial results clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience with hardware development/manufacturing programs preferred; familiarity with material procurement, inventory/WIP, and cost drivers.
• Experience with FAR/DFARS, EVM, ERP, or program finance systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop program finance staff through coaching and increasing ownership.
• Serve as the primary finance partner to Program Managers through the program lifecycle.
• Lead development and review of Estimates at Completion (EACs).
• Own program-level forecasting of revenue, cost, margin, cash, and backlog.
• Partner with Accounting to support revenue recognition and EAC changes.
• Identify and communicate program financial risks and opportunities.
• Analyze actual performance vs budget, forecast, and EAC; address variances.
• Support monthly close, annual plan, and long-range planning.
• Monitor contract funding, billing, backlog, and cash performance; analyze modifications.
• Prepare and present program financial results and outlook to leadership.
• Develop standardized program finance processes and reporting for scalability.
• Ability to travel or work off-site as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
