Job summary

Urban Pathways, Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Program Budget Coordinator to manage program budgets, provide financial reporting and analysis, and support fiscal stability across diverse programs.

Reporting to the Director of Budgets, you will contribute to transparent budgeting and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field with 2–3 years in a nonprofit setting, experience with Financial Edge or Sage Intacct, and strong Microsoft

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, financial management, accounting, or related field, preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a social service non-profit setting with state and city funding streams involving analytical research and reporting financial data.
  • Principles and best practices in accounting and budgeting, including internal controls, variance analysis, and fiscal compliance.
  • Applied mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Financial Edge or Sage Intacct is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and report generation (Pivot Tables).
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail in numbers, documents, and data.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfort with multi-tasking across software packages and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual and multi-year budgets for each program, forecasting expenses and revenue.
  • Review and analyze expenditure patterns to identify reallocations or adjustments for compliance and reporting.
  • Coordinate with fiscal and program staff to ensure accurate recording and billing of expenses and compliance with funders’ requirements.
  • Collaborate with Program, Development, and Housing Development teams to input budgets into funder websites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
