Job summary

Truck Cab Manufacturers, Inc. is seeking a Production Planning & Control Manager to own the master production schedule across sheet metal fabrication, extrusion, CNC machining, and assembly.

You will determine what gets built, in what order, and when it starts, adapting as material, capacity, labor, and customer needs change. This role coordinates with Shop Management, Purchasing, Engineering, and Sales to ensure a realistic, executable plan and clear communication.

Qualifications

• PMP certification is required.
• Experience in production planning, scheduling, production control, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience in a multi-department manufacturing environment; fabrication, machining, and assembly preferred.
• Strong understanding of capacity planning, cycle time, routing, bottleneck management, and WIP control.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Excel for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the master production schedule across all lines.
• Control the release of work into production and manage WIP.
• Set build sequence and coordinate sequencing with Shop Manager and department leaders.
• Translate customer schedule requirements into an achievable internal plan.
• Adjust plan for material availability, labor, capacity, and priorities.
• Balance customer requirements against capacity and commitments.
• Maintain clear priorities for production personnel and leaders.
• Identify bottlenecks and constraints before they affect delivery.
• Coordinate with departments on labor and resource constraints.
• Monitor WIP and avoid excessive early releases.
• Provide reporting and production visibility for management.
