Job summary

SMT Corp. is seeking a Production Planner / Expediter to join our team in Sandy Hook, CT. This role is the nerve center of our production floor, bridging customer orders and finished goods, creating achievable schedules, tracking WIP, and expediting to meet delivery commitments.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, data-driven, and proficient with Excel, Pivot Tables, and ERP/MRP systems. You will act as the communication bridge between Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to keep order

Qualifications

Excel Fluency: comfortable managing large datasets with nested formulas.
Process Fluency: understanding production lifecycles from work order to final inspection.
Attention to Detail: handling hundreds of line items with precision.
Problem-Solving Agility: pivot schedules during downtime or delays.
Education/Experience: willing to train entry-level candidates with problem-solving and technical acumen.
Work hours: 8AM-5PM.

Responsibilities

Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain daily/weekly production schedules based on customer demand, machine capacity, and labor availability.
Order Expediting: Proactively track movement of jobs to meet tight deadlines.
Data Management: Utilize Excel functions and ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate lead times.
Process Flow Optimization: Analyze workflow and coordinate to resolve shortages or downtime.
Communication Bridge: Primary contact between Sales, Purchasing, and Operations for real-time updates.
