Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Principal Production Planner for the Brooklyn Center, MN site to lead production and capacity planning across the manufacturing network. You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to optimize master schedules and ensure continuous product availability.

Responsibilities include analyzing demand, inventory and capacity data, driving cross-functional decision-making, and mentoring planning professionals. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in supply chain, production planning, or related planning functions.
• Experience developing and managing production schedules, capacity plans, material requirements, and inventory strategies in manufacturing.
• Experience using ERP and planning systems to support operations.
• Experience analyzing complex data and translating findings into actionable plans.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead production planning and capacity strategies to support growth and uninterrupted product supply.
• Analyze demand, inventory, capacity, and production data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop and execute master production schedules balancing demand, inventory, and constraints.
• Drive cross-functional decisions with Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Purchasing, and Demand Planning.
• Identify vulnerabilities and develop contingency plans for material shortages and capacity changes.
• Lead initiatives to improve planning processes, forecast accuracy, scheduling, and inventory performance.
• Mentor planning professionals and promote best practices across the supply chain.
• Travel up to 10% annually.
