Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Planning Engineer to develop production plans for forging, machining, heat treatment, and finishing, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal use of resources.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to balance demand, capacity, and material flow, monitor lead times and scheduling metrics, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably forging, machining, heat treatment, or metal forming.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed production plans and schedules.
• Balance demand, capacity, labor, tooling, and materials.
• Adjust schedules for changes in engineering, delays, or priorities.
• Support S&OP and MPS activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize flow.
