Job summary

Wabtec Germantown is seeking a procurement professional to manage buying for production, own vendor relationships, and ensure on-time delivery to production lines. The role partners with Engineering, Sourcing and Quality teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include placing and following up on purchase orders, expediting supplier promises, resolving payment and delivery issues, and driving improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years in Buying/Procurement/Materials/Sourcing.
• Strong English communication (oral and written).
• Interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Oracle ERP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place and follow-up on purchase orders to support production.
• Create and update purchase orders for production needs.
• Manage supplier relationships for PO execution and deliveries.
• Analyze vendor promises and expedite when needed.
• Handle schedule changes and shop adjustments.
• Resolve day-to-day supplier issues (AP, NCMR, delivery, lead time).
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sourcing and Quality to resolve material issues.
• Identify fulfillment improvements and lead projects.
