Job summary

CLARK Material Handling Company is seeking a Procurement Specialist/ Production Buyer to procure components for forklift manufacturing. You will oversee a portfolio of commodities, manage supplier contracts, and drive cost savings while ensuring on-time delivery and quality.

You will collaborate with engineers, finance, and quality teams and interpret blueprints and requisitions to optimize supply sources. The role requires strong negotiation and analytical skills, experience with ERP systems,

Qualifications

• Four-year degree with experience as a buyer in a manufacturing operation or related field.
• Knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures and principles.
• Ability to provide detailed price analysis and project reports to management as requested.
• Knowledge of import/export issues and skilled in negotiating tactics.
• Knowledge of pricing of raw materials, labor rates, and manufacturing costs
• Strong organization and documentation skills
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Critical thinking and the ability to be action-oriented.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of materials, formal engineering change processes, supplier processes, pricing structure/policies and UCC
• Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word
• Proficient in using ERP software in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others through clear writing, telephone usage and presentation skills.
• CPIM certification, or other APICS certification.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the U.S.
• Must be available for periodic business travel to supplier locations.

Responsibilities

• Procure parts and materials needed to support production with optimum efficiency and pricing.
• Perform procurement duties for all types of parts, components, and materials for assigned commodities.
• Manage supplier contracts and implement pricing strategies to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Interface with engineers, finance, quality, marketing, and suppliers and understand blueprints and requisitions.
