Job summary

Genentech, a member of Roche, is advancing data and AI to accelerate drug discovery in California. This Principal Product Leader will define strategy for Therapeutics Discovery products, manage data lifecycles, and enable AI/ML-driven decision‑making in drug discovery.

Reporting to the Domain Head of Therapeutics Discovery, you will lead collaboration with scientists and informatics teams, shaping the roadmaps and budgets while reducing legacy systems and debt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus at least 7 years, or an advanced degree plus at least 2 years leading delivery of internal solutions.
• Leads by example with mentoring and coaching; influences without direct authority.
• Strong in Product Management: vision, strategy, and stakeholder management.
• Hands-on domain expertise in design‑make‑test‑learn aspects of biotechnology and data use in discovery.
• Experience documenting software requirements, user stories, and software specifications.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy and product vision for a product family in Therapeutics Discovery to enable high-impact outcomes.
• Develop deep scientific understanding, articulate the product roadmap, nurture stakeholder relationships, and drive delivery.
• Advocate for future-facing solutions, anticipate capabilities, and influence informatics ecosystem roadmaps and budgets.
• Contribute to consolidation and reduction of legacy systems and technical debt.
• Establish and cultivate partnerships with collaborators in DDC, CS CoE and beyond.
