Job summary

Columbia Energy & Environmental Services in Richland, WA seeks a Procurement Specialist to support project operations through purchasing, vendor negotiations, and material management. You will manage end-to-end procurement to meet timelines, budgets, and technical specs.

Reporting to the Fabrication Engineering Manager, you will source suppliers, issue PRs, evaluate bids, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with ASTM standards while coordinating with Receiving and other departments.

Qualifications

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strategic thinker analyzing cost, lead time, and supplier performance.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and procurement software.
• Ability to develop and maintain structured procurement tracking and documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Procure equipment, engineered systems, and construction materials in accordance with procurement plans.
• Negotiate vendor terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to secure cost-effective and timely solutions.
• Source, evaluate, and recommend new suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost factors.
• Prepare and issue purchase requisitions (PRs) and specifications for fabrication and material requests.
• Develop bid evaluations and spreadsheets, with cost-benefit analysis to support recommendations.
• Monitor supplier performance, address nonconformances, and identify opportunities for improved service and pricing.
• Stay informed of market trends, availability, and lead times for critical materials.
