Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Procurement Buyer in San Jose, CA, operating on a hybrid schedule with onsite training. The role reports to the Procurement Manager and focuses on strategic procurement, supplier management, and project oversight to optimize profitability and supply chain reliability.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, a preferred Bachelor’s degree, MRP experience (SAP/Oracle), and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills. Aerospace experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• MRP experience: SAP or Oracle preferred.
• Experience in a procurement environment.
• Advanced to expert level in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Manufacturing, Electronic or Aerospace industry background.

Responsibilities

• Plan and procure materials to meet build requirements for product lines.
• Analyze quotes to ensure price reasonableness and spec compliance.
• Initiate purchases and contracts via the MRP process.
• Review forecasted requirements and schedule orders accordingly.
• Negotiate complex awards in line with company and government rules.
• Prepare purchase orders and coordinate specs, materials, and tooling with suppliers.
• Manage cost improvement initiatives and multi-year agreements.
• Adjust orders per production plans to align with demand.
• Ensure material availability to meet manufacturing needs.
• Match infeed and inventory turnover to avoid excess stock.
• Investigate issues with receiving, invoices, or suppliers; resolve defects.
• Communicate changes in material, quantity, or delivery with stakeholders.
• Develop suppliers based on performance in quality, service, price.
• Analyze problems quickly and determine practical solutions.
