Job summary

Trident Technical College is seeking a strategic Procurement Manager I to support procurement operations within the Division of Finance and Business Affairs. This role plans, directs, coordinates, and conducts complex procurement activities for goods, services, and IT purchases to support institutional operations.

You will serve as a lead procurement professional, providing guidance to departments through the procurement lifecycle and fostering compliance, transparency, and stewardship of public

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in procurement, business or related field.
  • Experience in procurement and contracts, preferably public-sector.
  • Experience in higher education, government, or regulated procurement environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex procurement activities for institutional programs and departments.
  • Provide strategic acquisition planning and guidance to campus stakeholders.
  • Plan and direct daily and long-range procurement functions, including sourcing initiatives.
  • Conduct market research, analyze spending trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage solicitations; develop specifications, evaluate bids, negotiate and award contracts.
  • Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance; resolve issues and implement actions.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to procurement staff and stakeholders.
  • Develop procurement policies and process improvements to enhance compliance and efficiency.
  • Support the college's e-procurement platform and vendor relations.
