Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Manager, Procurement to lead enterprise procurement strategy and supplier management. The role drives sourcing, contract management, and inventory planning to ensure reliable, cost-effective delivery of goods and services.

You will develop and mentor a team, partner with senior leaders, and advance continuous improvement, risk management, and regulatory compliance across the utility infrastructure portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM) preferred.
• 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations.
• 3 years of leadership experience in teams or functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise supply chain and procurement strategies aligned with objectives.
• Lead end-to-end procurement operations: sourcing, purchasing, contract management, supplier governance.
• Advise on sourcing strategies and competitive bidding (RFQ, RFP, ITB).
• Direct strategic sourcing initiatives and complex negotiations to optimize cost and terms.
• Establish and manage supplier relationships, with performance monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Oversee inventory management and forecasting for operations and emergencies.
• Ensure availability of critical materials for infrastructure and capital projects.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, develop, and mentor supply chain staff focusing on performance and improvement.
