Mercury is building a complete finance stack for startups. We’re growing our procurement team and hiring a senior business partner to own high-impact deals and scale how procurement operates across the company.

This role sits at the center of procurement execution, vendor operations, and P2P systems. You’ll run procure-to-pay workflows end to end, negotiate contracts, and partner with Finance, Legal, Security, and Compliance to enable smart buying decisions.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years in procurement, sourcing, P2P, or related finance/ops role
• Hands-on P2P/procurement systems experience (Zip, Coupa, Ariba, or similar)
• Proven track record leading negotiations with commercial outcomes
• Experience building or improving procurement processes
• Experience with vendor risk, compliance, or third-party reviews
• Ability to run end-to-end workflows from intake to close
• Strong operational judgment and bias to action
• Comfort working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Security and stakeholders
• Ability to build dashboards to inform decisions

Responsibilities

• Own procurement intake and deal execution from request to signature and onboarding
• Design and improve procurement processes, policies, and controls
• Lead contract negotiations end to end including pricing and redlines
• Administer P2P tools and ensure workflows and integrations work
• Maintain clean procurement and vendor data across systems
• Manage vendor portfolio operations including renewals and SLAs
• Serve as operational contact for AP, Legal, Security, and Compliance
• Monitor cycle times and drive process/tool improvements
• Support vendor risk intake and cross-functional reviews
• Build dashboards and reports on spend, renewals, throughput, and savings
• Partner with Procurement Lead on reporting and executive updates
