Job summary

Jackson’s Food Company is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the procurement function, ensuring timely, cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, packaging, and production supplies. You will manage supplier relationships, demand planning, pricing, lead-times, and purchasing processes.

The role collaborates with Quality and Operations to address supplier-related quality and material concerns, while developing strategies to reduce costs and improve supply reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four-year college or equivalent.
• Seven to ten years related experience and/or training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven aptitude in Microsoft Suite.
• Proven aptitude with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for raw materials, packaging, production supplies, PPE, office supplies, and other operational materials.
• Review and validate short-term and long-term production schedules to ensure materials are available and delivered on time.
• Partner with the Supply Chain Planner and Operations leadership to develop material purchasing strategies.
• Analyze forecasted demand, historical usage, inventory levels, and lead-times to establish purchasing requirements.
• Develop and maintain purchasing plans balancing availability, inventory, shelf-life, MOQ, and production needs.
• Identify and address shortages, excess inventory, obsolete inventory, and supply risks.
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and pricing.
• Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, terms, lead-times, MOQs, and delivery requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and set expectations for on-time delivery and quality.
• Work with suppliers to anticipate demand changes and develop solutions for production needs.
• Evaluate supplier performance and opportunities for consolidation or alternate sourcing.
