Job summary

Jackson’s Food Company is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead the procurement function for raw materials, packaging, and supplies essential to production. You will oversee supplier relationships, forecasting, pricing, lead times, and procurement processes to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.

The role requires 7–10 years of related experience, a four-year degree, and strong ERP proficiency. You will collaborate with Finance, Quality, and Operations while coaching the purchasing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college is required.
• Seven to ten years of related procurement experience or training.
• Proven ability to manage ERP-based purchasing and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee procurement for raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies.
• Negotiate supplier terms, prices, and lead times.
• Develop material purchasing strategies with Supply Chain and Operations leadership.
• Forecast demand, inventory, and supplier lead times to set purchasing requirements.
• Identify shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks and address them.
• Manage supplier performance and drive sourcing consolidation and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with Quality and Operations on supplier-related issues and corrective actions.
• Drive ERP improvements and procurement process automation.
• Coach and develop the procurement team.
