Job summary

Solcoa Industries in Alameda, California is seeking a hands-on Procurement Manager to own purchasing for process equipment, bulk materials, and services essential to scaling our rare earth metal production. You will work closely with engineering, research and operations to align specs, schedules and costs.

You will build supplier networks, run RFQs, negotiate terms, manage open orders and ensure on-time delivery while improving quality and total landed cost as we grow.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing or metals.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management experience.
• Organized with multitasking and urgent sourcing.
• Experience with ERP and procurement processes in startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Own purchasing from request through delivery for equipment, parts, materials, and services.
• Turn drawings and BOMs into sourcing requirements and schedules.
• Find, qualify and develop suppliers; run RFQs and compare proposals.
• Track open orders and lead times; coordinate freight and receiving.
• Establish supplier sources and alternate suppliers to avoid single sources.
• Resolve supplier quality issues and maintain records.
• Establish purchasing processes, workflows, and visibility of PO data.
• Track supplier performance and landed costs; identify savings.
