Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing seeks a Lead Specialist in procurement to drive high‑complex commodity strategies, price targets, and annual cost reductions across the Global and North American supply base. You will influence supplier selection, develop cost targets, and align with manufacturing goals.

You will mentor teams, lead negotiations with suppliers, and collaborate with design and manufacturing to deliver best cost, quality, and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Purchasing or related field.
• 8+ Years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint; Catia knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, create, and manage specialized area to create and implement commodity part and supplier strategies.
• Research and monitor industry trends for development of Model and Supplier Strategies.
• Establish and correlate with design on logical cost targets and layout proposals.
• Lead and manage to meet KPIs and business plan targets in specialized area.
• Develop and lead supplier relationships.
• Develop, lead, and implement cost reduction strategies for specialized area.
• Lead special projects and report to Procurement Leadership.
• Mentor associates on problem solving and procedures.
