Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. seeks a Lead Specialist in procurement for high-complex commodities and strategic supplier planning.

You will define commodity strategies, manage supplier relations at senior levels, and drive annual cost reductions while aligning with global and North American supply chain strategies. You will leverage design inputs, model development, and cross-functional teamwork to deliver best-cost, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Purchasing or related field.
• 8+ Years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
• Strong project management experience managing complex issues; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint; ability to develop cost reports and present to stakeholders.
• Experience in supplier relationship management and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage specialized area to create and implement commodity part and supplier strategies.
• Maintain supplier relationships through senior-level contacts; influence cost targets and NM model savings.
• Drive cost reduction strategies and resolve complex supplier relationships.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and internal departments; monitor project progress and milestones.
• Mentor associates on problem solving and procurement processes.
• Provide input to key business plan themes and initiatives.
