Job summary

Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Mason City, Iowa team. This on-site role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and leads high-value procurement, supplier strategies, and cross-functional decisions to drive value beyond cost.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in procurement, strong negotiation and supplier-management skills, and experience with ERP/MRP systems. APICS certification is a plus. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field preferred.
Five+ years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience preferred.
Experience leading complex sourcing, negotiations, supplier performance, and cross-functional initiatives.
Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing, cost analysis, supplier management, and inventory planning.
Experience with ERP or MRP systems and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

Lead complex RFQs, supplier selections, negotiations, transitions, and contracting.
Manage high-value, cross-category spend portfolios and supplier relationships.
Drive cost-reduction programs and maintain a pipeline of savings opportunities.
Develop benchmarks, should-cost analyses, and supplier cost models.
Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory, forecasting, and material-availability issues.
Coach junior buyers and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
